What We Collect

We collect the information needed to run the app: account name, email address, hashed password, study progress, card history, review status, and basic product analytics such as signups and study activity.

Why We Use It

We use this information to authenticate your account, save learning progress, calculate review cards, improve the product, and provide support.

Analytics

The app uses private product analytics to understand signups, study activity, account support, feature health, and whether public learning guides help readers find the next useful lesson. Public-guide analytics may include the page path, anonymous session identifier, referring site or campaign label, scroll milestones, practice interactions, internal-link clicks, practice-CTA clicks, and whether that measured session later creates an account and begins studying. We do not place article text, form contents, passwords, or private writing in these events. Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track signals disable public-guide event collection.

If Google Analytics is enabled, it is used for aggregate traffic and acquisition reporting. Advertising personalization is disabled in the app's Google tag configuration.

Email

When transactional email is connected, an email provider may process only the information needed to send account and support messages.

Passwords

Passwords are stored as cryptographic hashes. We cannot tell you your password. Password reset links expire and should not be shared.

Community And Event Features

If you search for nearby community or event resources, the app may use the city or postal-code text you enter to sort curated public resources. Do not enter sensitive location details that are not needed for the search. If you save a Culture item or mark that you are listening to a playlist or going to an event, the app may show privacy-safe social proof such as your display name, initials, and aggregated counts. Public learner profiles are off by default. If you enable one, you choose whether to show your city, favorite word, words learned, badges, Culture activity, and public Instagram or WhatsApp contact links. Emails, internal user IDs, private answers, and private Culture Practice journal text are not shown in public profiles or feeds.

Culture Practice Journal

If you save a Culture Practice response while signed in, the app stores that response with your account so you can continue on another device. If you choose a source category or paste a headline or short excerpt for source-based practice, that category and short source text may be stored with the response. Writing goals, review status, saved suggestions, sentence-coach diagnostics, and completed review feedback may also be stored with your private journal. These entries are private to your account unless you choose to send one saved response for teacher/AI review preparation. That review request sends only the selected response, source category, short source excerpt, rubric, suggestions, sentence-coach diagnostics, and your optional note. When a review is completed, the app may store a reviewer summary, strengths, corrections, and next step with that private response.

Affiliate And Outbound Links

When you open an affiliate-ready or sponsored outbound link, we may log basic click analytics such as the card or resource ID, destination, timestamp, and browser user agent to keep links safe and relevant.

Your Choices

You may request account help, correction, export, or deletion through support. Some records may be retained when needed for legal, security, or fraud-prevention purposes.
